Atlus producer Kazuhisa Wada has indicated that remakes of the series' earliest entries — Shin Megami Tensei: Persona and Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 — Innocent Sin — will "probably" be produced, saying their existence matters for preserving the franchise's cultural legacy. (See the report at Rock Paper Shotgun.)
Wada returned to the topic in recent comments, reiterating Atlus' interest in remakes and framing remasters or remakes as "a kind of preservation of cultural heritage." He added that Atlus feels it is its "duty to ensure that old games are not forgotten and remain accessible in our time." (Wada’s remarks were summarized in the same Rock Paper Shotgun piece.)
Discussion of remaking the early Persona titles is not new. The idea was first raised a couple of years ago and resurfaced more recently during the year of Persona 3 Reload's successful release.
Earlier reports also suggested that Atlus may have already begun work on remakes of Persona 2 and Persona 4. To date, only the "fourth" has been formally announced.
Wada said the team conceived remakes for Persona 3 and Persona 4 around the same time; although the Persona 4 project was temporarily "put on hold," it remained part of their final plans.
Atlus has scheduled Persona 4 Revival for release on February 18, 2027, with launches planned for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series — including availability via Game Pass.
