The postal 2 remaster will be released in spring 2027

Studios Impact Inked and Team Beef, together with Running With Scissors, have revealed when we can expect Postal 2 Redux — the cult trash shooter’s remaster is due in spring 2027. To mark the announcement, the teams dropped a batch of screenshots so people can eyeball the upgrades.

We set out to make the original Postal 2 into something offbeat, something that let players do whatever they wanted. It caught people off-guard back then. Now, after 25+ years, we’ve tried to fold in current tech and updated gameplay systems while keeping that original loose feel. The response from fans was loud and fast; so we pushed to get those changes into a remaster and onto more platforms. Can’t wait for folks to play it. The heart of Postal 2 — The Dude’s misadventures, where a simple errand can explode into chaos — is still the same. Expect familiar freedom, the same sideways humor, and the potential for mayhem. Developers point to several tangible improvements, for example:

  • Full port of the original content to the Unity 6 engine.
  • Thorough visual overhaul: new textures, updated models, reworked lighting, etc.
  • A seamless world — no loading screens between areas.
  • Smarter crowds: NPCs react more believably to what the player does.
  • Tweaked action and improved physics for sharper feedback.
  • Interiors rebuilt with more things that break or collapse.
  • Champ the dog gets an update — you can send him after passersby.
  • QoL (human) touches like widescreen monitor support, modern control schemes, and a refreshed UI.

Postal 2 Redux will arrive first on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, and Quest; Xbox and Switch versions will follow later. Russian text localization is included.
