Yesterday evening Nintendo staff marked the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda with a special presentation, and today the company followed up with a new Nintendo Direct. The broadcast focused heavily on upcoming releases for the Nintendo Switch 2; below are the main announcements.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Capcom revealed a release date and a fresh gameplay trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Monster Hunter Wilds, confirming the game will arrive on Switch 2 on December 4. The studio also reminded players that a major expansion, Ascendance, is scheduled for next year.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation / Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion
Square Enix said the concluding part of the Final Fantasy VII remake project, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, will be multiplatform at launch and is set to begin on April 8, 2027. The title will release simultaneously on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2 — notably, without Russian localization. In the meantime, Switch 2 owners were offered Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, a remaster of Crisis Core, which was released for Nintendo’s flagship console during the presentation.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Definitive Edition
A new, standalone release of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is headed to Switch 2 as Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Definitive Edition. The enhanced version promises improved visuals and frame rates, more enemies on screen, and a hardcore difficulty mode. It will launch on February 25, 2027. Players who own the original on the first Switch will receive a discount and the ability to transfer their saves.
Meccha Chameleon
The indie hit Meccha Chameleon has been ported from PC to Nintendo Switch 2. No additional features were announced; the release brings the same hide-and-seek gameplay across various environments to the new console.
Pokémon Pokopia
Developers of Pokémon Pokopia revealed the second DLC pass will add another wave of content, including cosmetic items and new Pokémon. The expansion is planned to launch before the end of this year, though no exact date was provided.
Star Fox (2026)
The upcoming Star Fox remake will receive a free content update on September 29 that adds an online combat mode with four-player split-screen and three additional levels. In addition, the GameCube catalog on the Nintendo Classics service is receiving Star Fox Adventures starting today.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered
CD Projekt RED showed a brief teaser for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, confirming a Switch 2 edition that will include technical enhancements such as upgraded graphics and touchscreen support. The remaster is scheduled for release on September 29. The studio also noted work continues on a new story DLC, "Songs of the Past", planned for 2027.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Royal Edition
The Czech developer Warhorse announced the Switch 2 version of their "Stunning" game.
