DLC Fighter Bob Rolls into Tekken 8 by the End of August

Bandai Namco shared a gameplay trailer for Bob — the second DLC character of the third season in Tekken 8. The karate master is back; his footwork still looks absurdly quick and his hits land like they mean business, with a few new moves that change how you read him in a match (esp. those reach options).

Robert Richards first showed up in Tekken 6. After the scrap with Bryan Fury in the seventh installment he spent time in hospital — and the lousy food there set something off. He started messing w/ burger recipes, which somehow turned into a booming fast-food chain.

He also opened "Bob's Onigiri", and that venture bumped his profile beyond the ring. Oddly enough, the name stuck; people began to talk about him for more than his combos.

When Kazuya Mishima's ambitions rear up, Bob's story takes a twist. His eateries became places to help folks during rough times, and the moniker "Savior of Onigiri" caught on. Motivated by a blunt sense of justice — and his oft-quoted "perfect body" — he opts to take on Kazuya. Expect a mix of courtroom-sized bravado and straight-up fists.

Those with the "Character Pass" will be the first to play as Bob in Tekken 8 — starting August 19. For everyone else, access opens on August 24. Four costumes have also been prepared for the food lover.

This winter the fighting game will add a new arena and a guest character, Yujiro Hanma from the manga and anime "Baki the Grappler." Another DLC — the kangaroo boxer Roger Jr. — is aimed for autumn; a short tease for him appears at the end of the trailer. The developers recreated a viral video where an Australian man rescues a dog from a kangaroo — Leroy even dresses up as that man. A full Roger Jr. trailer will be shown on October 11 at the EVO championship in France.
