For the pixel roguelike barony huge secret locations and nearly an hour of new music will be released

The developers of Barony have released fresh details about the free update Instruments of Destruction: Part 2. Players should prepare for two large biomes, a total of ten secret levels, and a significant expansion of the soundtrack.

The headline locations are the Ancient Fortress — an abandoned stronghold where creatures like dryads, myconids, and gremlins tussle over territory — and Eternals' Keep, a well-guarded castle still occupied by mysterious salamanders who keep old rites alive. Each area brings its own mix of puzzles, traps, and loot (e.g., hidden corridors and booby-traps), plus two secret levels apiece — yes, two each.

Familiar zones aren't being left alone: new secret areas will appear in the Underworld, Hell, Crystal Caves, and the Citadel, pushing the secret-level count up to 10 in total. Small but meaningful touches, depending on how deep you like to explore. Composer Garrett Williamson is adding roughly 45 more min. of original music to the soundtrack — more atmosphere for those dungeon runs. The team also notes this won't be the final tease before release, so expect further announcements (and maybe a surprise or two).
