Hayden christensen wants to return to the role of anakin skywalker in the clone wars series alongside ewan mcgregor natalie portman and samuel l jackson

Hayden Christensen stated he'd like to film a Clone Wars series with the original prequel cast — and, he says, they’re all game. He brought it up on the Hey Jonas podcast while answering Kevin Jonas about a potential Anakin-focused show.

I know that Ewan McGregor would gladly do it. I've heard that Natalie Portman also wants to come back. Sam Jackson. In general, we could gather the whole team again.

That kind of comment lands hard for prequel devotees. Christensen hadn’t been seen as Anakin on-screen since 2005 (i.e., aside from a brief 2019 voice cameo) until he turned up in the first season of "Ahsoka." Meanwhile, the animated Clone Wars dug deep into Anakin’s bond with his padawan Ahsoka Tano — their banter, their nicknames (e.g., he calls her "Snips"; she calls him "Skyguy") — so the leap to seeing that friendship continue in "Ahsoka" felt almost natural.

Ewan McGregor has also signaled he’d return as Obi‑Wan.

I'm ready when they are ready. It just seems like they're not ready yet, but I'm in.

It’s been four years since the Obi‑Wan miniseries aired. Reportedly, McGregor even dropped by the set of "Ahsoka" season 2 to watch filming and to speak with Dave Filoni in person. A neat aside: his wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, plays Hera Syndulla in the show — small world, w/ potential backstage chemistry.

The second season of "Ahsoka" hits Disney Plus on January 20, 2027. The new season’s trailer premiered at D23.
