Ncsoft announced like or die a team survival shooter about streamers fighting each other

NCSOFT has revealed a new title, Like or Die — a team-based first-person survival shooter where streamers face off within a built-in narrative. The title will be released on PC via Steam, though the exact release date is still TBD.

Events unfold on a fictional space platform called "Kuaiya Stream," a nonstop broadcaster with an audience scattered across the cosmos. Victories and deaths become the show's fuel; the broadcast itself is woven into how matches play out.

Each match throws 16 streamers into four teams. Surviving helps, sure, but the real pressure is on racking up "likes" through flashy plays — whoever collects the most becomes the Kuaiya platform’s headline act.

One of the game's standout tools is the Block Gun, which lets players place cubic blocks around the map and literally alter the arena. The developers give a couple of obvious uses, e.g.,

  • build defensive barricades around your Nexus to shield the team’s respawn point;
  • carve out new passages or bypasses to flank opponents from unexpected angles.

How you warp the battlefield is — reportedly — your call.

At the center of each arena sits the Nexus, the team's respawn device; as long as it stands, downed players can return (i.e., respawn). Nexuses fall one by one, tension ramps up on the broadcast, and the match ends when a single team's respawn source remains.

Resource gathering matters, too. Materials scattered around let teams buy stronger weapons and gear from sponsors before big clashes. Airdrops and Lucky Blocks — sponsor packages that can deliver major tempo swings — are especially prized. According to the devs, which supplies a team contests and how it spends them can seriously swing a match’s outcome.
