As part of the Gamescom 2026 opener, publisher Konami and studio Screen Burn Interactive showed a fresh trailer for the horror title Silent Hill: Townfall. It stitches together new story beats and gives us the cast; pieces of plot surface, then get swallowed by fog—fitting, honestly.
The protagonist, Simon, is played by Giovanni Adepo, who viewers may recognize from The Three-Body Problem and It: Welcome to Derry. He wakes up in the mist-locked Scottish town of Saint Amelia with no memory of arriving there. For reasons that aren’t spelled out, he feels inexplicably tied to the place and starts poking around to understand what went wrong—slowly, awkwardly, like someone remembering a dream.
Terry O’Quinn, known to many from Lost, turns up as Richard. In the trailer he’s the man who summons Simon back to Saint Amelia, the catalyst for the game’s main events. As scenes flash, Richard’s ties to the island and its unpleasant history become more obvious—less a tidy reveal and more a tightening knot.
Voice actor Keziah Burrows (credits include Final Fantasy Tactics, Mewgenics) plays Zoe, a nurse. Her lines arrive through static on a portable TV; she asks Simon to “come back,” and then murmurs that “everyone is very angry.” After that, a huge, spider‑limbed creature crawls out of the fog. The moment lands hard—abrupt, noisy, and uneasy.
The game is set in 1996 on a remote Scottish island. It’s also the series’ first full entry in first-person perspective. One of Simon’s main tools will be a portable CRT television (i.e., the clunky set you’d expect, not the usual radio): it’s used to explore, to pick up messages, to warn about threats. Think of it as replacing the franchise’s traditional radio in a way that feels intentionally analog and intrusive (e.g., static, ghostly images).
Silent Hill: Townfall is slated for release on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC. Expect atmosphere over exposition—at least from this trailer—so the game will likely lean on mood and sudden jolts rather than neat answers.
