The audience of Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam is climbing again — roughly 100k players were wandering Night City simultaneously, a level we haven't seen since 2023. I had to double-check the charts; the number stuck out.

Anime + 70% discount on Steam = 40 million copies sold of Cyberpunk 2077

Paweł Sasko of CD Projekt RED — the original game's quest designer and now director of Cyberpunk 2 — linked the bump to the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the collaboration with Wuthering Waves and a hefty 70% sale. A sensible cocktail, esp. when a price cut meets renewed attention.

Here is a message from Sasko:

“I wish you a great time, my dear friends, I hope this will engross you, entertain you, and inspire you.”
