King Art Games and Deep Silver put the multiplayer of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn Of War IV on display by running a match pitting Space Marines against Orks. Creative Dir. Jan Teisen and Sr. Designer Elliot Verbeyst narrated what happened on-screen.

They wanted each faction to feel different — big, fast, and recognisable in play — without spelling everything out. The demo used one of the smaller maps, where map control and tempo quickly decided the flow. Small map = tight fights; hold the right points and you dictate pace.

Space Marines played like precision squads: compact teams, tech tools, and reserves called down from orbit (orb.) at critical moments, plus deployable defenses. Orks answered with sheer numbers, spilling regular infantry across the field to capture and fortify positions. Research, here, is mostly a time sink (mins), and notably there are no named commanders — more tactics, less character spotlight.

It looked exciting, though not necessarily a fix for balance questions some players might have.
