505 games will publish the ambitious nonlinear western action game exekiller

The Polish studio Paradark announced its retro‑futuristic western ExeKiller back in 2021. It still hasn’t shipped, but a publisher has now stepped in — 505 Games.

Set in an alternate 1970s, ExeKiller imagines an Earth turned to desert after a global catastrophe; survival is a daily calculation. You play bounty hunter Denzel Phoenix, on the payroll of the all‑powerful corporation Helion. As the plot unfolds, Phoenix uncovers truths about himself and quickly finds powerful factions pointing guns in his direction.

The game’s layout centers on a hub with multiple areas that unlock as you progress. Early on you get access to the hovercar "Appaloosa"; to track marks across the wasteland Phoenix inspects crime scenes, collects evidence and uses "Cybervision" tech. (Yes, there’s some detective work mixed in with the shooting.)

The team at Paradark emphasizes non‑linearity. Combat can bleed into stealth, hacking can open alternatives to brute force, and talking your way through a situation is an option. Choices are written to ripple outward — sparing someone or following an order might not pay off right away, but the consequences can appear later, unexpectedly.

The developers also promise:

  • A real‑time dialogue system — you can negotiate during shootouts and keep conversations going while driving.
  • Meaningful quest rewards that expand Phoenix's arsenal and unlock new tactical options.
  • An interface integrated into the game world rather than floating menus.

ExeKiller is launching on Steam w/o Russian localization. The release date is still unknown.
