Action RPG about a lovesick zombie Stupid Never Dies launches on October 21
The studio GPTRACK50 — set up by ex-Capcom developer Hiroyuki Kobayashi — announced that Stupid Never Dies will arrive on October 21. Along with the date came news of an expanded edition and a few new music videos; the team dropped them like trading cards, one after another.
A quick sketch of the plot: a zombie named Davy fell head over heels for a girl who froze to death during the Great War. To wake her, he must topple the Monster King. Problem is, Davy is basically the weakest zombie imaginable — so he survives by eating elite monsters’ cores, snatching their powers, and tinkering with stats and implants. Think of it like grinding, but with corpse consumption: HP, ATK, STR, XP—little “human” shorthand for what you’ll be juggling, e.g., buffs from cores and new implants (bio-/cyber-mods).

It also emerged today that SEGA will co-publish Stupid Never Dies. GPTRACK50’s president Hiroyuki Kobayashi gave SEGA a shout-out and called SND an ambitious action game with some offbeat mechanics. “Our team is determined to make a game that gamers worldwide will enjoy,” the director said — a straightforward promise, nothing gilded.
There are two ways to buy it: the standard edition, or the Glorious Idiot version. The latter bundles the base game plus the TickTock Teddies: Nonsense Overload Pack — a set of tick-tock bears sporting new skins and some peculiar special effects (visual and musical). The pack will also be sold on its own, for those who just want the teddy chaos.
You can start climbing the “zombie career ladder” in Stupid Never Dies on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5; Russian subtitles are included.
