Cronos the new dawn survived the developers worst nightmare and started making money

Not every gamble hits — yet Bloober Team's horror title Cronos: The New Dawn reached a clear financial milestone. Studio head Piotr Babeno said the game "fully recouped its costs nine months after release" and began to generate profit thereafter.

He didn't hand over exact dev costs (no figs disclosed); Babeno only noted that this was the most expensive original project Bloober has ever mounted. High budget, yes — but break-even was reached, and revenue followed.

Babeno also remarked that the modern gaming market is tougher than it used to be, i.e., launching new franchises carries more risk now than a few years ago. The tone was cautious rather than celebratory.

As for the future: the studio views Cronos as a candidate for a lasting IP, though that's speculative — it could expand into sequels, merch, transmedia, etc., or remain a single successful release. For now, they're cautiously optimistic and watching ROI and player response.
