Gears of war e day does not deliver good performance on pc compared to previous installments

In general, the system requirements for the action game Gears of War: E-Day from The Coalition are noticeably higher than earlier entries in the series. Leaks from a closed game test that surfaced online show the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 managing only about 40–50 fps in native 4K on ultra settings. That’s striking given how past Gears titles used to be held up as examples of tight optimization.

However, put in the wider context of modern releases (even some running on custom engines), 40+ fps at native 4K on a single GPU doesn’t read as catastrophic anymore. The likely culprit is heavy use of ray tracing—which chews performance—and until we see numbers with RT disabled (or with upscaling tech engaged), it’s hard to judge the real cost. For reference: that RTX 5080 is roughly a $1400 GPU, so seeing the delta with RT off would be helpful.
