The team behind Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival has published a new horror-themed gameplay trailer that places combat at the forefront. While puzzles are part of the game, the video spends only a brief time on them and centers mostly on different approaches to fighting.
The trailer presents visceral encounters — with the most extreme moments deliberately censored — and shows finishing moves that trigger when enemies are near death. It also highlights enemies that are best handled from afar, making the game's firearms a useful option in certain fights.
Stealth is included as an alternative to direct confrontation: players can silently dispatch foes, lay traps, and use environmental hazards such as explosive barrels to turn the surroundings into weapons. Combat is further affected by the Genesis Configuration, the game's combat puzzle, which grants the protagonist supernatural abilities to influence battles.
Developers note that evasion is a valid tactic as well; fleeing powerful opponents is an acceptable strategy since some adversaries are more safely engaged at a distance. Exploration remains important, too — the trailer shows players scouring areas for materials to craft items and to trade with a local merchant.
Clive Barkerʼs Hellraiser: Revival will be released on October 8 on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC. The game places players in the role of Aidan, who confronts Pinhead and "must unlock the power of the mysterious puzzle — the Genesis Configuration — to save his girlfriend Sunny from the underworld of the Maze."
Prior to this trailer, the developers shared a longer gameplay video that demonstrated level exploration, significant combat content, and a clash with a monster resembling a mini-boss.
