In Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, You Will Be Able to Automatically Level Up to Avoid Grinding

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the third and final entry in the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy, will give players an option to skip the usual level-grinding that can come from bypassing optional content. Director Naoki Hamaguchi disclosed the new system in an interview with IGN Japan.

Hamaguchi said the decision grew out of player feedback gathered during development of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Many players who prioritized the main story avoided side quests, but doing so sometimes left their characters under-leveled and struggling during the main campaign.

To address that, Revelation will prompt players at specific moments with the choice: Would you like to automatically level up to the recommended level? Accepting the prompt will raise a party’s stats to meet the stage’s suggested requirements, allowing progress through the main story without forced detours to farm experience.

The feature follows a recent trend in the series toward giving players control over progression speed. For instance, the Final Fantasy 1-6 Pixel Remaster collection lets players tweak experience and money multipliers to accelerate or slow advancement.

Hamaguchi emphasized that Revelation will include many optional activities but will not require completion of all of them. The development team aims to let players explore and manage their playtime freely while ensuring that skipping secondary content does not block the main story.
