A quick studio snap from Doug Cockle, the English voice of Geralt of Rivia in the The Witcher series, set people talking. He posted an image that looks very much like a recording session for the new expansion "Songs of the Past" for the third "Witcher". In May, CD Projekt RED said a third story expansion is coming; the release is slated for 2027 — yes, more than a decade after "Blood and Wine".
Cockle captioned the post: "Oh don’t mind me… just visiting an old friend… and, of course, Roach." The official The Witcher account replied: "The Witcher and Roach are on the road again."

No official line yet that the session is strictly for "Songs of the Past"; neither Doug Cockle nor CD Projekt RED have flat-out said so. Still, the photo literally shows Roach and Geralt (white wolf vibes included), so fans — understandably — are connecting the dots. Small detail: the expansion is being developed w/ Fool’s Theory, a studio that counts veterans from the original game among its ranks.
As for Geralt in The Witcher IV, that remains murky. Back in 2024 Cockle once suggested the character would appear, then later admitted that was based on rumors; reportedly, CD Projekt RED asked him to refrain from commenting while details were under wraps. Today he says he doesn't know whether Geralt will show up in the fourth title or what part he'd play — and honestly, that uncertainty is part of the fun (and frustration) for the fandom.
