The page of the unofficial pc port of spider man edge of time was blocked on github a day after its release

The unofficial PC port of the superhero action game Spider-Man: Edge of Time vanished from public view on the GitHub platform just one day after its release. Both the project repository and the personal profile of the developer using the pseudonym GenryTheFox stopped loading for guest visitors and began returning 404 errors.

The fan-made conversion adapts the 2011 title from Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to the DirectX 12 graphics API and includes keyboard, mouse, and Russian-language support. The release generated significant attention among players but remained accessible on GitHub for only a short time.

In a blog post, the project author said he had not removed the files himself and that the port project is intact. According to his account, both the source code and finished binary builds remain saved on his personal storage. He also published a screenshot of correspondence with GitHub support showing that the platform’s security system had forcibly reset his password and hidden the account after detecting a suspicious login from a server in Amsterdam. The developer acknowledged that a legal complaint from rights holders Marvel and Activision over the use of their intellectual property remains a possibility.

The creator said he will continue to maintain and develop the build regardless of the platform’s decision. If GitHub support declines to restore the public profile and repository, he intends to publish the distribution and files for Spider-Man: Edge of Time - PC Edition on alternative sites. He also reported ongoing work on other console game ports, including an adaptation of the arcade title Sonic Free Riders that removes the dependency on the Kinect sensor.
