Eighteen years after its release, the cult RPG-strategy King’s Bounty: The Legend got an update. Fulqrum Publishing has tweaked the build for modern PCs and added several things that were missing from the Steam edition.
The headline change: proper widescreen support — gone are the black bars at the edges. The camera can now zoom out twice as far, and the interface was reworked so menus and on-screen text read better on higher-res displays (e.g., larger fonts, clearer spacing).
There are a few non-technical additions too: Steam achievements and collectible cards arrived, plus Steam Workshop support so players can share mods more easily. At the moment the workshop hosts a single mod that restores the original fonts.
Fulqrum Publishing says similar updates will come to King’s Bounty: Armored Princess. The company also started a sale on the series; right now King’s Bounty: The Legend, King’s Bounty: Crossworlds, and other entries are offered at an 85% discount.
A quick reminder: King’s Bounty: The Legend first landed in 2008 and hooked a lot of turn-based fans with its RPG trimmings, broad map, and offbeat humor — some players still treat it as a standout in the genre.
