KytyPS5 Emulator Runs HITMAN World of Assassination, Reaching Playable Gameplay
The PlayStation 5 emulator KytyPS5 has taken another step forward, this time with HITMAN World of Assassination. A demonstration showed the game booting into full 3D gameplay on hardware consisting of an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and a GeForce RTX 3060.
During the test, performance settled at roughly 8–10 frames per second. Despite the low frame rate, the emulator successfully renders locations and characters, and Agent 47 can be controlled by the player. While the speed remains far from what would be needed for a comfortable playthrough, the fact that a modern PS5 title launches at all on an RTX 3060 signals continued momentum for the project.
This latest experiment follows earlier work on Demon’s Souls. The Bluepoint Games remake was previously shown running on KytyPS5 at 4K with output at 120 FPS, though that figure did not reflect native emulator performance. In that test, the base frame rate was around 30 FPS, with DLSS and fourfold frame generation (MFG 4X) used to reach the final 120 FPS. An earlier demonstration of Demon’s Souls on KytyPS5 ran at approximately 40–50 FPS with nearly correct graphical rendering.
Taken together, the various tests illustrate both the direct gains in emulation performance and the growing role of modern upscaling and frame generation techniques in these experiments.
