Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered became more popular after the release of "Spider-Man: New Day"

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” nudged PC interest upward — games about the “friendly neighbor” are suddenly back in demand on Steam. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered both saw clear spikes in concurrent players after the film hit theaters. Before July 31 the daily peak for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 sat around 3–4 thousand players; now it exceeds 11 thousand (e.g., pre-July 31 vs. current). The Remastered version shows a similar jump: where it used to top out at 2–3 thousand, it now maintains roughly 15–16 thousand.

In the U.S., “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” opened to an eye-popping $360 million over the weekend — a domestic haul that even nudged past “Avengers: Endgame” at home. Globally, though, the picture is different: about $932 million so far versus the Infinity Saga finale’s ~$1.2 billion. Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman has said the studio hopes to do at least one more film with Tom Holland, but work on the “Spider-Verse” spin-offs has been paused — they didn’t connect with audiences as expected, so those projects are on hold for now.
