The first major update, called Fishing Update, has landed for the cooperative sandbox Outbound. It adds a proper fishing system — you can craft and upgrade gear (e.g., rods, reels, baits) across different tiers and try to reel in dozens of fish that live in varied biomes. New building elements also arrived, letting you tweak the interior of your mobile home — make the van a bit comfier, add little touches, etc.
The patch arrived at the same time as the game's successful launch. Since its May 2026 release Outbound has drawn in over 250,000 players on multiple platforms. Apparently the devs figured a fishing rod would stick better than another set of daily quests — and, honestly, that choice makes sense.
