Announced the updated edition of the strategy game company of heroes definitive edition

At the PC Gaming Show 2026 festival, devs unveiled Company of Heroes - Definitive Edition. It's a wide-ranging remaster of the 2006 RTS—aimed at getting the classic running cleanly on modern rigs while preserving its grim atmosphere and tactical bite. The team moved the codebase to 64-bit; stability and compatibility with roughly two decades of fan mods were explicitly called out. No release date yet, but an official Russian translation is already confirmed. The Definitive Edition bundles the base game with the Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor expansions. Campaign offerings include three large-scale operations. Four factions are playable. Multiplayer tops fifty maps. On the visuals and UX front, textures were enhanced and lighting reworked, and the interface now supports ultrawide displays. Gameplay tweaks are focused and practical: squads can be auto-replenished at HQ, and there’s a new "Relentless" AI difficulty. Whether these updates please longtime fans or stir debate remains to be seen.
