That odd teaser shown at Nintendo's new-console reveal? That was fourteen months back. Now FromSoftware — led by Hidetaka Miyazaki — has finally pulled its quirkiest project into the light: The Duskbloods.
During the summer Nintendo Direct (2026) the studio dropped a new, fairly short gameplay trailer and announced a closed network test slated for this summer. The specifics remain scarce; the release date is still TBD, but Kadokawa and the publisher insist it will arrive before the end of 2026 and stay a permanent Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive (i.e., no other platforms announced).
The trailer itself was more mood than manual — atmospheric flashes, strange mechanics hinted at, very little hard info — so expect the closed test to be mostly about online systems and early impressions (e.g., server load, matchmaking behavior), not the final content. Short version: wait and watch — and brace for a Switch 2–only run unless plans change.
