As promised: Resident Evil Requiem cracked on release day
A hacker using the pseudonym KiriGiri (rumored to be a woman) announced the cracking of the protection for the latest installment of the cult series Resident Evil. According to them, bypassing multiple layers of protection—Steam, Denuvo, Capcom Anti Tamper, VMProtect, and SteamStub—was achieved using a hypervisor, with the solution working on both AMD and Intel processors.
The timeframe in which the protection fell is of particular interest: just one hour after the game's official release. This is an absolute record in the entire history of Denuvo's existence, albeit with some caveats.
