"I'm forgetting that I'm not Lara Croft": Alix Wilton Regan injured her arm while filming Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

British actress Alix Wilton Regan — who provided both the voice and movements for Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider titles Legacy of Atlantis and Catalyst — described an on-set mishap.

"I honestly lose touch with reality and forget I'm not Lara Croft. The other day I kept charging a door for the sake of realism and, by evening, my hand was badly injured. The crew kept telling me those dramatics weren't necessary, but I needed to feel each hit from the inside. Looking back, I probably pushed their patience a bit too far."

Her own description pins the cause on overexertion: doing 5–7 takes straight, no break, so the damage only became obvious when her hand stopped moving and a colleague pointed it out.

This kind of thing isn't unheard of on Tomb Raider shoots — Sophie Turner, set to play Lara Croft in the new series, was recently slightly hurt as well, briefly pausing production.

The remake of the 1996 original, titled Legacy of Atlantis, is slated for February 2027. Also planned for around the same time is a brand-new numbered entry, Tomb Raider: Catalyst — in short, two big Tomb Raider releases are aiming for 2027.
