Update from March 4. False alarm! Iron Galaxy responded to the stir and made it plain: that splash screen is exactly what it looks like — a splash screen. The studio says it's a recurring slide they toss into monthly presentations, not a breadcrumb pointing at a Fallout project.

Original news. For a while now, people online have been tossing around the idea that Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas might get the same treatment as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. The rumor mill got an extra push after Iron Galaxy Studios — the studio behind some work on Fallout 76 and a fair amount of porting — posted about an internal meeting.
Their short post on social platforms notes a roundup of interim results and plans ahead. Then someone noticed a loading-screen shot from Fallout: New Vegas tucked into the post, and that was all it took for whispers to swell into headlines.
Does that single image actually mean the devs are remastering New Vegas or Fallout 3? Maybe. Maybe not. The studio has worked with Bethesda before — ports of Skyrim, VR versions, and helping with Fallout 4 VR are on their CV — so it's not wild to imagine them on another old-school Fallout. On the other hand, this could be nothing more than an internal placeholder (BTS slide, reused). Fans have been burned by coincidences like this before: a Steam glitch and a mysterious site countdown on the Fallout series page have both taught the community to be cautious.
