Lollipop Chainsaw 2: Back2Back is 99% Ready – The Game World Will Be Made Even Crazier, and Juliet Even More Attractive

At Tokyo Game Show 2026 on September 18, Sega held a presentation focused on the upcoming zombie action title Lollipop Chainsaw 2: Back2Back by Dragami Games; the project continues the series established by Lollipop Chainsaw and its remake RePOP and is slated to arrive on PS5 in 2027. The studio’s announcement appears to confirm the title will be a timed PS5 exclusive, according to the official announcement.

Dragami Games is developing the sequel alongside JP Universe, a team led by Hajime Tabata, who previously worked at Square Enix on Final Fantasy 15. The project also reunites Masahiro Yuki, the original scriptwriter, and Nekosegun, who contributed to character design and artwork on the first game.

During the TGS showcase the developers outlined three main pillars guiding development:

  • Characters: the team wants Juliet to stand out sharply against hordes of zombies, elevating her from a star to a superstar and refining her style and appeal to draw new fans.
  • Cute and crazy world: the sequel will amplify the original’s blend of horror, pop culture, kitsch, and style—taking that aesthetic further and making the setting more expressive.
  • Dynamic action: emphasis is being placed on tight, enjoyable controls and responsive combat so Juliet looks spectacular while fighting.

The developers said the project is 99% complete and now in its final polish phase. A trailer was screened at the event, but it intentionally held back the more provocative moments that characterized the original; the team indicated those elements will be revealed over time.

Lollipop Chainsaw 2: Back2Back is scheduled for release on PS5 in 2027.
