Marvel's Blade Developer Denies Speculation About Project Cancellation; Journalist Jeff Grubb Retracts His Statements

Marvel’s Blade — the Arkane Studios title many expected to see at the Xbox Games Showcase and Summer Game Fest — was absent, and that absence sparked a flurry of worrying guesses online. Some fans jumped straight to the worst-case scenario; others demanded official word. No press release arrived, but a member of Arkane broke the silence in a less formal way.

Arkane Lyon's Art Director, Jean-Luc Monnet, replied to a fan tweet. The original message read: Please tell me you are alive, @ArkaneStudios. This is important for my mental health. Monnet answered with a Breaking Bad gif and the brief, pointed line: Let us cook.

Industry insider Jeff Grubb also weighed in. At first he speculated about the absence; later he followed up, saying he'd checked the facts and, in his view (FYI), the reasons the game didn’t appear aren’t about it being broken or axed. His comment: I just speculated. Since then I've checked the information. It seems there are reasons why we haven’t seen it, but those reasons are not related to problems with the game. It’s not canceled.
