Five more actors have been added to the cast of the Far Cry television adaptation, according to Deadline.
The newcomers announced are:
- Brendan Gleeson — Harry Potter films’ Alastor Moody, Ken from In Bruges, General Brigham from Edge of Tomorrow.
- Jennifer Jason Leigh — Daisy Domergue from The Hateful Eight, Selena St. George from Dolores Claiborne, Hedra Carlson from Single White Female.
- Hamish Linklater — Father Paul from Midnight Mass, Clark Debussy from Legion, Porter Collins from The Big Short.
- Sam Spruell — Jack McVitie from Legend, Charlie from The Hurt Locker, Oleg Malankov from Taken 3.
- Jamie Demetriou — Stat from Stath Lets Flats, a professor in Paddington 2, and a Mattel executive in Barbie.
Earlier casting announcements had already confirmed Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex) and Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire) in the series. McElhenney is set to serve as an executive producer. Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion, Alien: Covenant) has been named showrunner for the project produced by FX Productions.
The creative team says the adaptation will mirror the structure of the original games, with each season presenting a self-contained story and a new set of characters. The series is slated to stream on Hulu and Disney+. No premiere date has been announced.
