The next major content update for Star Trek Online has a name and a date — and it brings back a couple of familiar faces. Titled Star Trek Online: Undiscovered, it lands on PC on July 7, 2026. Robert Picardo returns as The Doctor, and Lisa LoCicero plays Lieutenant Miral Paris, the daughter of Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres from Star Trek: Voyager. I’ll admit, hearing Picardo’s name made me smile; it felt like a small jolt of nostalgia.
This patch revisits The Ultimate Klingon, a storyline that once threaded through early Federation and Klingon arcs. Cryptic has gone back in and changed the shape of the tale: visuals have been refreshed and some story beats rewritten, with new cutscenes woven into the experience. The setup drops players into the Klingon War era, when the Federation is offering the High Council a ceasefire. Your job? Help Miral Paris and The Doctor drum up support for President Okeg’s peace proposal while handling the awkward, politically loaded question of Paris’s position as the Kuvah’ma from an old Klingon prophecy.
Cryptic is also running a limited-time event called Undiscovered alongside the main update. The headline reward is the Raptor ship equipped with the temporal flight deck of the K’Vort — a hull you might recognize from TNG and Star Trek: Lower Decks. In-game, the Raptor can be dressed up to look like those classic onscreen versions, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Finally, the update overhauls Deep Space Encounters — STO’s roaming mission system that sends crews into the Alpha, Beta and Delta Quadrants on procedurally generated assignments. Expect shifting objectives, unpredictable foes and a broad range of locales. Activities in Deep Space Encounters will count toward the Undiscovered event, handing out bonus Endeavor XP and progress toward the daily event goals tied to constructing the K'Vort.
